SERVICES PROVIDED: interpreting, subtitling and translation of web content

Pro World Studio is a company made of young and talented people who offer comprehensive communication services to businesses. Filippo, CEO of PWS, got to know me while looking for an interpreter specialised in the medical field.
How it all started
We started to work together in December 2020 when PWS contacted me looking for an interpreter specialised in medicine for a hybrid conference. Some speakers were at the event venue, the audience attended the event remotely and so did one of the speakers who had to give his speech in English, for which the Italian translation was needed.
Our work and the results we achieved together
First, I asked for the details of the event: the speech needed to be translated simultaneously from English into Italian and it presented some clinical data related to the economic impact of specific healthcare measures already adopted.
I then asked to have access to any material available to study and get ready for the job: speaker’s details, slides and/or script of his speech and the agenda of the event to forecast any possible reference to previous or following presentations.
Once all the files were shared with me, I started searching for the speaker, I read some of his articles on the same topic of the speech I would translate and listened to his previous speeches. This was very helpful because the expert would give his speech in English but he was not a native English speaker; therefore, I checked whether he had a peculiar accent to get familiar with before the event.
On the day of the conference, I reached the venue before the beginning of the event to perform the usual sound checks and get my work station ready.
As the speech was brief – it lasted less than one hour – I worked alone translating from English into Italian.
My job was appreciated by the audience and the event organisers that complimented on the accuracy and fluency of the translation, which was the result of my study and work supported by ProWorld’s professionalism and willingness to share the information about the event.
Our collaboration over the years
Since then, I’ve been working with Pro World Studio on other occasions requiring translation/interpreting jobs in my working languages.
I have also subtitled a couple of videos from English into Italian: one promotional video by a renowned household appliance brand and a video where professors and researchers from a famous Italian university presented the results of the latest clinical trials. More recently, I have translated the websites of two important firms offering financial solutions to Italian SMEs.
